Ellis County Commissioners unanimously approved two replat requests affecting residential lots in Waxahachie and nearby territory.
Sarah Garcia, speaking for the Department of Development, described Item 1.1 as a replat of Halverson Estates (Lots 1R and 2R, Block A), an approximately 12.5-acre site located about 990 feet northwest of Great House Road and Old Maple Road in Waxahachie. Garcia said no new lots are being created and that water service is available via Buena Vista Bethel’s 12-inch line; staff recommended approval. “No new lots are being created,” Garcia said, and staff recommended approval as presented. The court approved the replat after a motion by Commissioner Ponder and a second by Commissioner Butler.
On Item 1.2, Garcia presented a replat of the Haveron/HWH Addition to create one additional lot (renamed HWH Addition) on roughly 14.42 acres, partially within disputed extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) territory. Staff recommended approval subject to 22 surveyor comments/conditions. Commissioner Butler moved to approve subject to those conditions, Commissioner Ponder seconded, and the motion carried without opposition.
What’s next: Both approvals are ministerial land-planning decisions pending surveyor compliance with the listed conditions; no opposition was presented at the hearing. The court did not identify any outstanding appeals or litigation on these items during the open meeting.
