The sheriff's office requested an additional roughly $932,000 to cover projected out‑of‑county housing through June 2026; with that amendment the housing account balance was estimated to be about $1,997,635. Langan noted the memo requested funding to house up to 90 inmates out of county but that the office currently houses about 80 and could come in under the request.
Court members praised the sheriff's office for reducing costs and overtime; the court approved the amendment on a motion and second and recorded the vote 5–0.
Quote: "We currently have 80 inmates out of county... we may have to house more inmates out of county, but I think we're gonna be able to stick with that 80 number for some time," Chief Deputy Matt Langan said.
