Court awards soil-testing contract to Terracon and authorizes easement release
Summary
Following executive session, the commissioners approved including Terracon as an awarded vendor for soil testing in response to RFP '1 7 2 4' and authorized the county judge to sign a release of an historic floodway easement.
After returning from executive session on Jan. 13, the Cameron County Commissioners Court approved two items arising from closed-door discussions.
A staff member (speaker 3) moved to include Terracon as one of the awarded vendors for soil and testing in response to RFP "1 7 2 4," and to authorize the county judge to negotiate the contract. Commissioners voted to approve the award by voice vote.
Staff also moved to give the county judge authority to sign a release of easement related to a very old floodway easement that had been granted to the county. Commissioners approved the authorization by voice vote.
The motions were taken immediately after the court's return to open session; the court recorded the votes as carried. The transcript does not include contract dollar amounts or additional contract terms; final contract negotiation was directed to staff and the county judge.
