Collin County staff presented a redesigned county website and the commissioners signaled they were satisfied with the look and gave direction to move forward.
Derek Jackson, the county's government information coordinator, walked the court through desktop, tablet and mobile mockups and described a rotating news and events banner and a redesigned layout for commonly searched services. Tim Miller from IT said the redesign modernizes the site and improves search and mobile experiences.
Jackson identified Adela Ruiz as the principal designer and introduced her as the project's web developer; Ruiz was present in the gallery. Jackson said the project team plans to push the site live when vendor readiness and final staff coordination are complete and mentioned an anticipated week to go live.
The court expressed appreciation for the work, asked for staff notification shortly before launch, and gave consensus direction to proceed; staff said they would target an imminent go‑live once final checks are complete. No formal court order was required for this direction; staff will coordinate final deployment steps with the vendor.
