LifePath Systems reports funding mix, SAMHSA grant and Bloomdale campus move

Tammy Mahan, CEO of LifePath Systems — the county's local mental‑health and IDD authority — updated Commissioners Court on funding, grants and facility moves. She said roughly 80% of LifePath's community center funding comes through state general revenue and federal block grants; the county provides approximately 5% of the budget and other sources (Medicaid, Medicare and client payments) make up the remainder.
Mahan said LifePath is in year 2 of a SAMHSA grant for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) worth $1,000,000 a year, and that the agency is launching state‑funded co‑responder programs that require a 1:1 match. She said some federal grants have ended and that outpatient funding remains constrained, but new federal and state opportunities (including a veterans commission award and a youth crisis outreach team notification) will help expand crisis and mobile outreach capacity.
Mahan also reported that administrative and BH intensive services moved into the Bloomdale campus in October and November, and that IDD authority staff completed a move on Nov. 17. She said the county helped lease the campus land and that the facility will eventually house an expanded crisis center with roughly twice the prior capacity once final inspections are complete.
Commissioners thanked Mahan and LifePath board member Rick Crawford presented awards to court members recognizing support for the Bloomdale project. LifePath said it will continue applying for state and federal funds and will return with updates on grant awards and program launches.
