- Valero Texas Open permit: The court closed a public hearing after receiving no speakers and cleared the Valero Texas Open golf tournament (March 30–April 5, 2026) by motion.
- ECore/Ecort tax abatement: The court approved creation of a reinvestment zone and a 10-year, 50% county ad valorem tax abatement for a company proposing a roughly $160 million investment in Precinct 4 and hiring about 150 workers at an average salary cited as $56,000 a year.
- Plan Your Vote SA funding: Commissioners approved $32,500 to continue the Plan Your Vote SA website for the 2026 election cycle after commissioners debated consolidating content with the county elections site.
- Voter engagement advisory committee: The court confirmed appointments to a citizen advisory committee and tasked staff to audit and revive dormant committees so appointees actually meet.
- Jail overtime: The sheriff requested and the court authorized overtime to cover 39,028 hours in the adult detention center (estimated $1,730,430) to address staffing and housing pressures.
- Eminent domain (flood control): Public Works described two parcels needed for Cagnon Road realignment over the Medina River to replace a flood-prone crossing; the court authorized the use of eminent domain if negotiations fail to acquire roughly 2.25 and 1.272 acres.
- Ancovia Group amendment: The court approved a $1,182,803.60 second amendment with Ancovia Group LLC for staff augmentation and continuous improvement work supporting the county integrated justice system (CJIS) and county IT; staff said the work was previously budgeted.
What this means: The approvals move forward economic-development incentives, flood-control acquisitions and election outreach while authorizing additional IT and corrections spending. The voter-system contract (VR Systems) — a separate high-dollar vote — was approved after extended debate and is covered in a separate report.
The court closed by noting expanded accessibility measures (including ASL interpretation and additional accessible polling facilities) and adjourning with memorials.
