The Belgrade Regional Parks, Trails and Recreation District voted to set a public hearing for Sept. 30, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. to consider adoption of its fiscal year 2025 budget and assessments, the board chair said at a short meeting that opened and closed without public comment.
The hearing was scheduled after the chair explained that recent changes to state Department of Revenue numbers require the district to revise its budget and assessment figures before final adoption. The Clerk confirmed the district hearing would begin at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, with the city council set to meet at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
A Committee member moved "to set the date for the public hearing to consider adoption of the Belgrade Regional Parks, Trails and Recreation District for the budget year of 25 and assessment on September 30, 2024." The motion was amended to specify a 6:30 p.m. start time, seconded and carried on a voice vote. The Chair announced, "Motion carries." The board did not record individual roll-call votes.
The Chair opened the meeting for public comment on items not on the agenda and called two additional times; no members of the public spoke. After approving the hearing date, the board immediately passed a motion to adjourn and ended the meeting at 6:32 p.m.
The scheduled public hearing will give residents and stakeholders an opportunity to review changes to the FY25 budget and any proposed assessment adjustments before the board considers final adoption.
