Jane Davison told the board at the Jan. 14 meeting that she received the County-approved budget with no cuts to submitted figures and that $22,000 was left in for capital expenditures. She said she has final spreadsheet entries to complete.
The board agreed to update its sponsor list so donation-request letters can be mailed or emailed; any board member may solicit sponsorships and Danielle Thomas offered to assist. The board discussed using sponsorships to help cover entertainer housing and other costs.
Board members agreed that contracts with changes will be reviewed by the County Attorney before finalization. Tonya Steadmon will provide the current Fair Board member list (with titles and phone numbers) to the County Administrative Assistant for posting on the county website. The board also noted the CAFS website has not been updated and that required CAFS dues are currently unknown.
Jane and Tonya will work on itemized budgets for bands, electrician, sound, kids rodeo, contract labor, exhibit hall and other line items so funding stays on track. Tonya will request permission from the Town of Pagosa to display the main fair banner over Hot Springs Blvd. the week prior to the fair and will arrange to have dates changed on the main Fair banner.
