The Commissioner’s Court approved a subrecipient agreement with Sam Ministries to provide $2,166,101.75 in HOME‑ARP funds to support rehabilitation and supportive services at the Hudson Apartments (6014 Blanco Road) in Precinct 2.
Economic and Community Development staff explained the money will pay for a two‑story supportive‑services center, accessibility improvements and day‑to‑day delivery of case management, medical, dental, psychiatric services and a food pantry. Sam Ministries representatives said the organization will operate the supportive services on site and partner with UT Health and other providers for medical and psychiatric care.
Commissioners praised the project and emphasized the high local need: staff reported the Hudson is fully occupied (with a small number of units held for a ribbon cutting) and that other projects (the Commons at Asequia Trails) are on schedule. The court approved the subrecipient agreement by voice vote.
