Mr. Keel provided the Textbook & Curriculum Committee a detailed update on the career and technical education textbook adoption cycle. He said this cycle includes high-school Lifetime Wellness and CTE courses in information technology and advanced manufacturing, plus three middle-school CTE courses. Some courses have one or no state-approved textbook options, simplifying the committee’s evaluation.
Most publisher materials have been received; hard copies will be accessible in the community room by appointment and a review link will be posted on the district website to solicit community comment over several weeks. Mr. Keel said all textbooks have been verified to cover course objectives and meet a minimum of 80% of the district rubric criteria required for adoption. The committee expects to finalize its recommendation at the April committee meeting and refer a final adoption vote to the full board in May.
No committee objection was raised and the committee adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
