Chandler, reporting on student activities, said the middle-school band performed at the WTSBOA festival at the University of Tennessee at Martin and earned two excellence and two superior scores. The robotics team placed second at a competition hosted by Dyersburg Middle School. Chandler said the high-school nursing program partnered with Lifeline Blood Service for a recent blood drive. He also reported that seniors received $8,500 in awards for ACT and ASVAB scores, funded by TISA outcome bonuses.
Students who attended a SCOPE event in Nashville spoke briefly about their experience. One student said, "It was very educational for me and my peers that went," and described group debates on topics like whether Spanish should remain required and whether the ACT should be used as an enforced measure. The board thanked staff, particularly Miss Lisa, for arranging the trip.
A board member recapped attending the CASA National conference and encouraged others to consider attendance for networking and practical sessions. He emphasized sessions on career and technical education (CTE) for younger grades and said discussion about artificial intelligence was a prominent conference theme.
The board presented certificates and photos for employee and student recognition and then moved on to other business.
