The Belgrade City Council voted unanimously to fill two council-appointed positions left vacant after a resignation, assigning Council Member Bell to the Senior Center/Parking Appeals Board and Council Member Guffey to the Disaster Emergency Services Committee.
City staff noted both positions had been handled by the now-resigned Council Member Doyle and needed timely coverage. Council Member Bell agreed to serve on the Senior Center/Parking Appeals Board and Council Member Guffey agreed to serve on the Disaster Emergency Services Committee for the remainder of the year. After asking for public comment and hearing none, the council moved and approved both appointments.
Council members clarified the disaster committee meets only as needed and is chaired by the city manager and police chief; the city manager said he would brief any newly appointed member. The appointments are effective immediately for the remainder of the current year; no additional conditions or reporting requirements were recorded in the meeting discussion.
