Board tells appointed bodies to send approved minutes within 30 days; administration to compile annual‑report calendar
Summary
The Board voted to request that every board to which the county appoints representatives send their approved meeting minutes to the county packet (receive and file) within 30 days of approval, and asked administration to compile a list and 2026 timeline of statutorily or contractually required annual reports.

The Grand Traverse County Board approved a motion asking all boards to which the county appoints representatives to provide their approved minutes for inclusion in the county Board packet, to be placed on consent (receive and file) within 30 days of approval.
Commissioner Andrews said consolidating approved minutes into the county packet would increase transparency and public access; commissioners discussed scope (only boards to which the county appoints members) and agreed the request should seek approved minutes (not drafts). The motion was approved on voice vote.
Separately, the Board asked administration to compile a list of entities that are statutorily or contractually required (or otherwise preferred) to provide annual reports and to propose a timeline for receiving those reports in 2026. That directive was also approved.
The Board characterized these steps as incremental transparency improvements: making minutes more readily available in one place and establishing a predictable calendar for annual reports. Administration will return a compiled list and timeline for Board review.
