MSU Extension representative Jennifer explained the MOA covers county‑funded extension services and that, because of local support and lease arrangements, MSU held next year’s MOA to 2025 costs. “This is actually 3% lower than it would normally be,” she told commissioners, noting the county appropriation for MSU Extension in 2026 is $279,000.
Commissioners thanked MSU staff for partnership and for efforts to reduce costs where possible. The Board approved the MOA on a motion by Commissioner Walter with a second; the motion carried by voice vote. Jennifer also invited commissioners to an agritourism networking event tied to the upcoming agritourism summit.
The MOA approvals were treated as routine consent/department action; staff will coordinate occupancy and operational details noted in the presentation (MSU anticipates an early‑April occupancy window contingent on permits).
