Callahan County commissioners voted Dec. 22 to extend the termination date for the Bahia pipeline road‑use agreement to March 30, 2026, after county staff said weather and holidays delayed cleanup work.
The amendment, presented with a performance bond and packet documentation, was moved, seconded and approved by the court. County staff relayed counsel’s recommendation that the county require progress reports demonstrating due diligence before granting future extensions that reach into a new calendar year.
Commissioners said the contractor requested the additional time to complete cleanup and pipe work; staff indicated the three‑month extension should be sufficient and that the project may finish before the new termination date. The court did not attach extra conditions at the time of the vote beyond counsel’s recommendation for future practice.
The motion passed with an affirmative voice vote; the court adjourned after final business.
