Committee reviews Emergency Management plans, caps exposed fallout shelter entry and holds energy-audit agreement for procurement review

Phil Hewitt, Buildings & Facilities staff, told the committee that plans for the Emergency Management building have been submitted to the state and that the department is coordinating sidewalk snow removal with the City of Viroqua as part of winter preparations.
The committee approved a motion to cap and recover an entrance hole to an old fallout shelter near the Erlandson building after a collapse exposed the bunker.
Members also discussed a proposed energy-audit agreement presented at the prior County Board meeting. After motions to advance and reconsider the agreement, the committee voted to hold the agreement and directed Hewitt and corp counsel to review procurement and solicitation requirements before the matter returns to the General Government Committee.
