The General Government Committee on Nov. 5 approved forwarding a resolution to increase marriage license fees and authorized the county clerk to enter a Memorandum of Understanding with local municipalities to provide voter registration services.
County Clerk J. Pedretti presented a resolution to increase the marriage license fee from $70 to $80 and to increase the 3‑day waiver fee from $10 to $20; Clerk Pedretti said these fees had not been increased since 2008 and that the proposed amounts would align with neighboring counties. Supervisor Lawler moved the resolution and Supervisor Goede seconded; the committee voted to forward the resolution to the full County Board with a recommendation for approval.
Clerk Pedretti also presented a biennial MOU for WisVote voter-registration services. The committee noted the MOU fees have increased by about 10% since the last cycle and approved authorizing the County Clerk to enter into the MOU.
