Treasurer: Vernon County has $24.3 million cash on hand; sales tax and delinquent tax figures reported

Treasurer Karen DeLap presented the county’s year-end balances to the Finance Committee on Jan. 20, reporting total cash on hand of $24,295,367.85 as of Dec. 30, receipts of $2,928,554.02, total delinquent property taxes of $545,230.19 and sales tax collections at $254,410.65.
Finance Director Anne Lockyer presented year‑to‑date financials. The Finance Department said it is running the second payroll in the Tyler payroll system, processing W‑2s, completing full-year reconciliations and continuing work on a new financial system.
The figures were recorded in the committee’s minutes and form part of the financial materials that will be forwarded for further review.
