Commission approves consent agenda and awards drug-testing contract to Redwood Toxicology

At its April 21 meeting the Gallatin County Commission approved the consent agenda and several routine items, including claims and contracts presented by staff.
Staff reported claims totaling $928,454.15. Shelley Brady, deputy director of Gallatin County Court Services, told the commission that two proposals were received for the alcohol and other drug laboratory testing and presumptive testing supplies: Coordant Health Solutions and Redwood Toxicology. Brady recommended awarding the contract to Redwood Toxicology, stating the county would save roughly $8,000 a year compared with the other bidder. "After reviewing both of them, we are recommending the contract be awarded to Redwood Toxicology," Brady said.
A commissioner moved to approve the contract recommendation and to adopt the consent agenda as read; the motions passed 2 to 0. The record also included approval to release and reissue an improvements agreement for the Quarry residential subdivision, replacing a letter of credit with a check as the form of financial security and setting deadlines for sidewalks and landscaping to be completed by September 25.
