After public commenters expressed support for Finn, a commissioner moved to continue the appointment decision to the board's May 5 meeting; a second commissioner agreed and the motion carried 2 to 0. The commission also noted May 5 is an election day and staff warned the day will include ballot counting, but members said they can set a limited meeting that day. The item will be renoticed for the May 5 regular public meeting.
