County employees and SEIU representatives press Fayette County commissioners on pay and health benefits; 911 dispatchers request review

Several Children & Youth caseworkers, including Tessa Sible and Rachel Livengood, described the emotional and traumatic nature of casework and said proposed healthcare changes and pay levels could worsen burnout and turnover.
Murelle Grant Hernandez, speaking as a 911 dispatcher representative, asked the board to review dispatcher compensation and health insurance because of high stress, staffing shortages and retention challenges, and requested a meeting to discuss improvements. The minutes record the requests but do not record a commitment by the commissioners to meet or a timeline for follow-up.
