Clinton County probation department to use $97,155 JRI 2 funding for vehicle, tasers and case-management upgrade

Jason Bolt told commissioners that the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency released Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI 2) funding, and that Clinton County’s probation department is eligible for $97,155.
Bolt proposed three primary uses for the funds: replacing an aging probation vehicle (a 2016 model with about 126,000 miles) at a cost of $53,948; replacing unsupported tasers with a package priced at $41,207 because manufacturer support for cartridges and parts has lapsed; and a $2,000 update for the department’s case-management software to improve data sharing with law enforcement.
Bolt said the request is on the agenda for the Thursday commissioners meeting for approval. No vote was recorded during the work session.
