The Brown County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously on March 4, 2026, to approve a Memorandum of Understanding between Job and Family Services (JFS) and local community partners to delineate responsibilities for referring, reporting, investigating and prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases in Brown County.
The motion to approve the MOU was moved by Barry L. Woodruff and seconded by Gordon Ellis; the roll-call vote recorded yeas from Woodruff, Ellis and Tony Applegate. The board noted that MOU participants will review the agreement every two years, and the complete MOU is filed with county records.
The minutes do not include debate text or implementation details beyond the review schedule; the clerk’s file contains the full agreement for partner agencies and the public record.
The board adjourned following the MOU approval and other routine business. Job and Family Services is listed as the assignee for implementing the agreement and for coordinating the two-year review.
