The tutorial walked users through creating an AquaHawk user profile by clicking the green Register button on the AquaHawk landing page accessed via the village website’s "Connect with Us" link. Registrants are asked to provide email, name, phone number and mailing address for their AquaHawk profile; the presenter clarified that profile contact information does not need to match the utility bill. After submitting the form, users will see a confirmation message and receive an automated email from AquaHawk.
To link a specific utility account, users must have their Burr Ridge utility bill available and enter the account number, account name and service address exactly as they appear on the bill so the system can verify the account. The presenter noted account details are often visible in the top right corner or on the payment stub.
AquaHawk supports several linking options: a single AquaHawk user can monitor one utility account, a single user can monitor multiple accounts through one login, and shared access allows multiple AquaHawk users to monitor the same utility account (for example, a homeowner and a tenant). To add another account to an existing profile, the presenter instructed users to open the username drop‑down menu, select "Register Account," enter the account details as shown on the bill and confirm the pop‑up to toggle between properties from the dashboard.
On notifications the presenter said each AquaHawk user can set only one contact preference (email, text or phone). To receive alerts via more than one channel for the same utility account, the presenter suggested creating a second AquaHawk profile and assigning the alternate contact preference to it.
For assistance with registration or account linking, the presenter provided the utility billing office email utilitybilling@bur-ridge.gov and phone number (630) 654-8181, ext. 4030. The tutorial closed after reiterating the platform’s leak‑detection and bill‑saving benefits.
