Alabama parole board denies most parole requests, grants several pardons and conditioned paroles

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles convened Oct. 29, 2025, and ruled on a 29-case docket of parole and pardon requests, denying most parole petitions and granting pardons or parole relief in 10 cases.
Board members Darryl Littleton and Gabrelle Simmons, with Nicole Lewis recording the minutes, opened the meeting at 8:30 a.m. under Alabama Code, Title 15, Chapter 22. The board approved the minutes from the Oct. 28 meeting on a motion by Darryl Littleton that was seconded by Gabrelle Simmons.
The board denied parole for multiple applicants, including Jimmie E. Parker and Jeffery Alexander, both denied with reset dates set for October 2030; Austin D. Gilbert and several others were denied with reset dates in 2027–2028; and several applicants were denied with no reset date. Victim speakers and representatives from the Attorney General’s Office, identified in the minutes as India Eaves, spoke against parole in multiple cases.
The board granted parole or pardons in 10 docketed matters. Parole grants with special conditions included Maxwell L. Sanders and Frederick Packer, each required to complete the Perry County Probation/Parole Reentry Education Program (PREP), reside at an approved halfway house, wear a GPS ankle monitor, and follow up with mental-health and drug assessment services upon release. Jeanie R. Worthey received parole with similar reentry conditions. Travis M. Williams was granted parole with a reset date of October 2026.
The board issued several full pardons restoring civil and political rights: Sherry L. Hardy, Christopher T. Andrews and Daniel A. Wilson were recorded as receiving full pardons restoring civil and political rights; Michael A. King received a pardon restoring relief from the habitual-offender act and relief from firearms disabilities. Andrew Woods received a full pardon limited to relief from firearms disabilities. Rusty G. Watts II was granted voting rights only.
When the board imposed conditional releases, the minutes explicitly listed supervision and program requirements rather than specifying financial terms: PREP participation, approved halfway-house placement, GPS monitoring, NA/AA participation where noted, mental-health follow-up and post-release drug assessment.
The board also reviewed attached lists of files for revocation and delinquent files without recorded case-level votes beyond acknowledgement of review. The meeting adjourned at 12:32 p.m.; the next meeting was scheduled for Oct. 30, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at 301 South Ripley Street, Montgomery.
