After the vote, the appointee stood to receive the oath, reciting the oath used by the village: "I, Krishna Kildar, having been appointed to the position of planning and zoning commissioner in the village of Vernon Hills, in the county of Lake, do solemnly swear and affirm that I will support the constitution of the United States and the constitution of the state of Illinois and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office according to the best of my ability." The board welcomed Kildar and thanked them for their willingness to serve.
Procedural note: the motion carried on a roll call vote; no abstentions were recorded and the appointment was effective upon swearing in.
