Superintendent Dr. Bob McBride used the April 27 brief to celebrate student achievements and district traditions. He noted the girls wrestling team placed at the state level and possibly earned a state championship, students who excelled in the IDEA drafting/design competition, a student who won a national PSA video contest out of roughly 250 entries, and 125 Illinois State Scholars.
McBride also described the district's annual senior-filming tradition scheduled for Friday, May 1, where seniors wear apparel representing their post-graduation plans for a community video. He closed the brief by reading a short passage from a William Butler Yeats poem addressed to seniors and offered thanks to listeners.
