In new business the police department requested a waiver of the bidding process and approval to purchase a solar‑powered mobile surveillance trailer from Wireless CCTV. The department said it received three proposals and Wireless CCTV offered the most fiscally responsible price; the total cost was cited as $33,590 and staff said a majority of the purchase will be offset by a previously secured grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The board approved the waiver and the purchase by roll call.
Staff also presented a proposal from Jay Hassett Landscaping Inc. for landscape installation on the Weber Corridor at Grand Boulevard and North Caroline Drive. The project cost was presented as $98,996; staff said the work would complement the corridor improvements and that the village has been working with the Carillon homeowners association and counsel on long‑term maintenance agreements. The board approved the landscaping contract by roll call.
