Nisbett stressed that the city did not create all of these market forces but that the local combination of campuses, talent from UCSB and industrial infrastructure has made Goleta attractive to technology investors and developers. He cautioned that growth can present both opportunities and community impacts and said officials must engage on land use and infrastructure planning as these projects evolve.
