Belvidere council approves consent items: grants, appointments, equipment and plant contracts

The council consented to three appointments: Alexandra Olmiatek and Lisa Kumuro to the Historic Preservation Commission (three‑year terms ending 04/30/2028) and Paul Engleman to the Planning & Zoning Commission for a five‑year term ending May 2030. Councilors thanked the appointees for their service.
Public works approved the purchase of a replacement Dinkmar curb runner chassis from RNOW Inc. for $50,200 to be paid from public works impact fees (the committee noted a current impact‑fee balance of approximately $60,000). The council also approved a proposal from Cerrone Piping for $422,336 to replace the MAU in the wastewater treatment plant office/lab filter building; funding will come from the sewer depreciation line.
Other consent items included approval of a $4,000 plumbing contract to replace fixtures at Fire Station 1 and authorization of a street closure for National Night Out on Aug. 5, 2025. All listed consent motions passed by roll call with council recording unanimous support.
