At the March 24 meeting the Board opened three bids for construction of a snow-removal equipment storage building at Priest River Airport. An airport representative (Speaker 13) said an FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant will fund about 95% of the project, with the remaining 5% split between state funds and the county match.
Three bidders read their schedules and totals into the record. Ardura submitted a base bid and alternates totaling approximately $955,000; TML Construction submitted a total of about $1,089,308; and Excavate 8 LLC submitted the low bid of $728,000 for base plus alternates. The board voted to accept the bid opening and remand the bids to the county's engineering consultant for evaluation and recommendation.
The bids will be reviewed by the county's engineering consultant and staff before any award is recommended. The board noted the customary process is to open bids publicly, transcribe totals into the record, and remand them for consultant evaluation.
What happens next: engineering staff will review the bids and bring a recommendation to the board for award or further action.
