Lifeguard Ambulance lease: Council adopted an ordinance approving a lease agreement between the City of Macomb and Lifeguard Ambulance Service of Illinois Inc. for use of Fire Station No. 2 (1100 E. Pierce St.). Council confirmed the lease term and noted the agreement includes a five-year term with a 3% annual escalator.
Lift-assist fees: Council adopted an ordinance imposing a lift-assist fee for assisted-living and nursing-home facilities, citing municipal authority under the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5). The ordinance allows six no-charge lift assists per facility per calendar year; additional requests by impacted facilities may be charged a reasonable fee. City staff stated affected facilities were provided written notice.
Animal shelter IGA: Council adopted a resolution authorizing the City to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the McDonough County Board for operation and cost sharing of the county animal shelter; the mayor is authorized to execute the agreement and the city will continue to contribute toward shelter operations as described in the IGA.
Roll-call and outcomes: each of these items passed on voice/roll-call votes with unanimous support except where otherwise noted in council minutes. Council also received committee reports, including shelter intake and adoption statistics for November.
