Temecula's City Council on March 24 adopted an update to the Transportation Uniform Mitigation Fee (TUMF) schedule, implementing a roughly 2.6% construction-cost index adjustment for 2025.
Staff explained TUMF is a regional program that ensures new development contributes to regional transportation infrastructure. "What is TUMF? TUMF is the transportation uniform mitigation fee program that ensures that new development pays for its fair share of infrastructure," staff said during the hearing. The update divides residential fees by unit square footage and adjusts rates for multi-family, industrial, retail and office classes; the changes are modest on most fee lines and intended to keep the TUMF program funded for regional projects.
The council opened and closed the public hearing with no speakers and adopted the ordinance and implementing resolution unanimously, 5-0.
