Trustees approve conditional use for Genesis auto sales at 2929 Patriot Boulevard

The Glenview Board approved first consideration of a conditional use permit and limited architectural changes to allow a Genesis automobile sales and repair facility to open at 2929 Patriot Boulevard.
Adam Marinson, deputy director of community development, presented the proposal and said the project was split into two phases to allow the applicant to begin operations: phase 1 seeks approval for new service and pedestrian doors and removal of an existing canopy and columns so vehicles can access the site. Marinson said phase 1 had been recommended for approval by the New Development Commission 6‑0.
Marinson described the proposed floor plan and elevations, noting the project currently shows six new overhead doors and five exterior pedestrian doors and a temporary small showroom space while the broader showroom is built out. He said the applicant intends to return this summer with phase 2 materials — final site plan, preliminary subdivision, landscaping, lighting and signage — before moving to final permits and construction, which the presenter said would be completed by 2027.
A motion to approve item 11B was made and seconded and passed by voice vote. The board approved the first‑stage conditional use and limited architectural changes; the applicant will return for final approvals as described.
