Robins City Council appoints Adam Cirkl as police chief, approves several resolutions

The Robins City Council on April 6 unanimously approved a package of personnel and administrative measures, including appointing Adam Cirkl as the city’s new police chief.
Council Member Mike Foley moved to approve Resolution No. 0426-5 appointing Adam Cirkl as Robins Police Chief; Council Member Bruce Vander Sanden seconded the motion, which passed on a roll call vote with all members voting aye. Following the vote, Cirkl was sworn in.
The council also adopted Resolution No. 0426-6 approving a professional services agreement with Iowa Codification to support ordinance codification; Resolution No. 0426-7 approving a seasonal intern job description (with council discussion recommending the description be made more general for future reuse); and Resolution No. 0426-8 renewing employee benefits for Fiscal Year 2027. In older-business action, the council approved Resolution No. 0326-6 to correct mathematical errors in the City’s building permit fee tables; Deputy Clerk Rhonda Kortenkamp explained the corrections and noted fees remain comparable to neighboring communities.
All measures on the April 6 consent and new-business agendas passed on roll call votes with each council member voting aye. Motions and seconders were recorded in the minutes for each item. The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
