The Brockton City Council granted National Grid’s petition to relocate utility pole 4-8 on Rosemary Street, moving the pole out of a customer’s backyard and placing the pole under National Grid ownership.
At a hearing opened by the council president, Jared Aker, representing National Grid, told the council the relocation was intended to support an adjacent pole along Rosemary Street and to remove the existing pole from a customer’s yard. “We’re just relocating, like you said, a pole out of a customer’s backyard that’s needed to support another pole along the street,” Aker said.
The clerk reported that paperwork was on file and the hearing was assigned for 04/27/2026; no members of the public spoke in favor or opposition during the hearing. Following the presentation, the council granted the petition by hand vote.
The action authorizes National Grid to relocate the identified pole and to assume sole ownership of the replaced structure. The council did not record conditions or additional restrictions on the easement or relocation in the transcript. The hearing record shows the petition was on file in the city clerk’s office.
