Pearl River County extends AAA Ambulance contract, approves insurance renewal and routine payment

The Pearl River County Board of Supervisors on March 2 approved a three‑year extension of the contract with AAA Ambulance Service, moving the contract expiration to July 23, 2029. The motion was made by District 4 Supervisor Jason Spence and seconded by District 1 Supervisor Donald Hart; all five supervisors voted aye.
The Board also authorized the Board President to sign the county insurance renewal with MASIT covering county property and liability for the period April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027. That motion, likewise made by Supervisor Spence and seconded by Supervisor Hart, passed unanimously.
Separately, the Board approved payment of $1,366.98 to the Capital One Spark Business Card for charges due March 20, 2026. County Administrator Adrain Lumpkin, Jr. presented the item and the Board recorded that receipts for the transactions were attached to the payment request.
The three approvals were procedural and passed on unanimous votes. No board member requested further review or amendment to the ambulance contract during the meeting; the extension and insurance renewal were recorded as motions with mover and seconder in the official minutes.
The Board adjourned other business related to county contracts and insurance until future meetings as needed.
