Stepan Partamian, representing the Center for Armenian Arts, told the Glendale City Council that the center activated its leased space at 250 North Orange Street with more than 100 events since 2024 and described recent renovations that expanded the hall and removed an old kitchen. Partamian listed exhibitions, concerts, book signings and lectures and said the center regularly made space available free of charge to Armenian and non‑Armenian community groups.
Partamian asked to continue operating the space; staff clarified the two‑year lease expired in February 2026 and that the city is operating month‑to‑month but that, administratively, staff can enter into another lease for a couple of years unless council directs otherwise. Council members praised the center’s activation of the corner, suggested better coordination among local arts organizations and recommended exploring grant opportunities to support programming. The council moved to note and file the report and the motion carried unanimously on roll call.
No formal lease extension was decided during the meeting; staff said they could proceed administratively but would follow any direction council provides at a future meeting.
