Fox Board of Education approves 2024–25 pay and hiring plans, accepts $61,195 vehicle bid and several vendor contracts

The consent vote also designated Executive Officer Mark Williams as the district’s authorized representative for the Child Nutrition Program and adopted the child nutrition procurement plan for 2024–25. The board approved a resolution authorizing the Carter County commissioners to perform maintenance and repair work on streets within Fox Schools, and it approved a contract for career and technology programs for the 2024–25 school year. The board also accepted a bid from Josh's Flooring for cafeteria flooring and approved the district’s foster care plan.
The board approved multiple hiring actions: Samantha Holland was approved as an elementary teacher for 2024–25; Deeanne Garrett was approved as a part-time counselor; and a slate of adjunct instructors were approved for art, intermediate mathematics, multiple science subjects, family and consumer science, Spanish and world history. The board additionally approved an extra-duty stipend of $1,000 (take-home pay) for Dalton Smith for summer athletics.
All recorded votes on motions in the minutes show Stacie Fletcher, Carolyn McConnell, Otto Young and Joey Rodriguez voting ‘‘aye’’ with Twanna Owens recorded as absent. Motions were moved and seconded by board members as listed in the minutes; where recorded, votes carried.
The board approved the Fox School student handbook for the 2024–25 school year and adjourned the meeting at 7:50 p.m.
