The Greer County Excise Board approved a series of fund transfers and monthly appropriations totaling $377,944.11 at a regular meeting on April 6 in Mangum.
Chairman Lee Sparkman called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Member Bryant Reeves moved to approve the minutes from the board’s Feb. 2, 2026 meeting; Member Steve Martin seconded. The roll call showed Reeves—Aye; Martin—Aye; Sparkman—Abstained. The motion carried.
Member Reeves then moved to approve a transfer of payroll funds from the Sheriff’s VAWA PS account to the Sheriff’s Service Fee PS account; Member Martin seconded. The board voted unanimously in favor of the transfer.
Chairman Sparkman moved to approve the list of monthly appropriations included in the clerk’s packet; Member Martin seconded. The appropriations were approved unanimously.
The county clerk’s printed transfer report, dated April 6, 2026 and signed/printed by Greer County Clerk Tiffany Buchanan, lists line-item monthly appropriations across many accounts and funds. Major totals in the report include: Highway accounts totaling $238,217.87; CBRI accounts totaling $28,006.84; Sheriff’s Service Fee accounts totaling $36,864.40; CH Improvement (Courthouse Improvement) $12,432.95; and assorted departmental allocations for county clerk, health, fair, lodging and others. The report’s grand total of monthly appropriations is $377,944.11.
The board adjourned after taking the recorded votes. The minutes indicate the document was approved on May 4, 2026 and attested by the county clerk.
