Senate Bill 275 was presented to the House Insurance Committee to require insurers to reimburse certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) at parity with physician reimbursement when CRNAs personally perform services within their lawful scope of practice, and to prohibit network exclusion on the basis of being a CRNA.
Senator Myers described the bill as a reimbursement fairness and network access measure; Colby LaFleur, identifying himself as a CRNA and board member/president‑elect of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Anesthetists, introduced himself and the committee recorded multiple green cards of support from hospitals, associations and provider groups. The committee adopted the motion to report SB275 favorably without recorded objection.
