At its Oct. 23 meeting, the Action County Commissioners approved a slate of routine consent items including approval of the Oct. 16 minutes; a travel request for Deborah Myers, clerk of courts, to attend the Fifth District Court of Appeals Conference in Pickerington, Ohio (Nov. 6, 2025) with estimated expenses of $1,125; and several departmental appropriations and transfers.
The board authorized appropriations listed by the chair: $100,000 for appointed attorney fees; $3,000 for health department travel; $375,000 for childrens services foster care; $50,000 for insurance; and $619.20 to fund an instructor reimbursement for corrections academy makeup hours, among other specified line items. Multiple fund transfers to insurance and foster-care accounts were also presented and discussed briefly; a board member asked staff (referred to as Nikki in the transcript) for clarification about the insurance transfers and whether they were to cover anticipated expenses.
Other consent actions included a then-and-now certification and payment of warrants for mental health, sheriff, Delroy School and the engineer, and authorization of a $45 payment to Holland and Meriden attorneys toward prosecution of one pending case. The board also approved canceling the Oct. 28, 2025 meeting.
Each consent item was moved and seconded and approved on roll call during the meeting. The transcript records affirmative roll-call responses for those present; it does not list a complete numeric tally for each item.
