Fayette County accepts clerk resignation, approves procurement and staff travel requests

During its Oct. 13 meeting the Fayette County Board of Commissioners accepted a letter of resignation from Sue A. Smith, Clerk, effective the same day. The acceptance was moved by Commissioner Donald L. Fleak, seconded by Commissioner James D. Garland and carried unanimously.
The board also approved a two-year servicing and warranty extension with SecureTech Systems, Inc. for the county’s WAVE systems at various offices for $1,780.00 and accepted a proposal from Ohio Insulation and Manufacturing Co. to remove and replace insulation at the Fayette County Administration Building at an estimated cost of $49,500.00.
Kate Wells, the county’s Economic Development Director, received authorization to purchase photo tiles for the administration building using locally produced images at a cost not to exceed $1,000. The board approved multiple employee travel and training expense requests, including Fayette County Auditor Brenda Mossbarger’s CAUV training expense (not to exceed $40) and Department of Job & Family Services travel requests that total $1,341.26; the minutes list individual travel authorizations and expense caps.
All recorded procurement and personnel-related motions passed on unanimous roll call.
