County approves amended child-placement contract and designates administrative hearing officer; multiple staff travel requests approved

Fayette County commissioners approved an amended contract between the Department of Job and Family Services and New Mercy Outreach, Inc., increasing the contract maximum to $160,000 for Title IV-E child placement and related services. The board recorded that all other contract terms remain unchanged from the original Jan. 7, 2025 agreement. The motion was moved by Commissioner Donald L. Fleak and seconded by Commissioner James D. Garland; the vote was unanimous.
At the director’s request, the board also accepted the proposal from Carole Pontious to serve as administrative hearing officer for the Fayette County Child Support Enforcement Agency (Title IV-D) for Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2026. The proposal will be on file with county records.
Additionally, the board approved a batch of staff travel and attendance requests submitted by Director Faye Williamson for home visits and meetings on specified dates, with individual expense caps listed in the minutes. The minutes record the director’s signature and an authorization that the total expenditure for the requested travel will not exceed $1,751.50 from the PA Fund.
