Fayette County adopts $274,510 CSBG workplan to fund homeless services and housing programs

On Oct. 13, 2025 the Fayette County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted the Community Action Commission of Fayette County’s workplan for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) for federal program year 2026–2027.
The county listed an estimated CSBG allocation of $274,510.00. The Community Action Commission budget shown in the meeting record allocates $140,319.00 for operating costs and $134,191.00 for administration. The workplan identifies program uses including self-help housing programs, the Brick House homeless shelter, permanent supportive housing programs and a homemaker program, and also budgets funds for capacity building activities such as a needs assessment, strategic planning, reporting outcomes and coordination of training.
The action was moved by Commissioner Fleak and seconded by Commissioner Garland and carried on a unanimous vote. The meeting record lists the estimated allocation; the county certification and grant agreement documents will contain final award language and reporting requirements.
