Commissioners approve multiple change orders and emergency lab purchase for Rattlesnake Water System project

The board approved Change Order No. 2 for Mid Atlantic Storage Systems for an electrical service upgrade in the amount of $60,762.09; Change Order No. 3 for stone backfill, trucking and associated labor for $37,183.76; Change Order No. 4 for pedestal pipe, manholes, catch basins and related items for $73,581.53; Change Order No. 5 for additional conduit and transformer work to serve treatment trailers for $21,798.38; and Change Order No. 6 for pipe purchases and installation labor for $43,495.70. Each change order was moved, seconded and approved on unanimous roll call.
The meeting record lists Mid Atlantic Storage Systems’ original contract amount as $6,432,402.00 and shows a contract amount incorporating the recorded change orders at $6,847,319.24. The minutes do not itemize any prior change orders beyond the numbers and amounts shown in the meeting packet; the file on record includes the contractor’s cost sheets and vendor invoices.
Separately, acting on a request from County Engineer Jason Little, the board authorized an emergency purchase under Ohio Revised Code 307.86 for a lab package at the water treatment plant from OnePoint Solution, LLC, at an estimated cost of $94,536.10. The minutes state the lab package is critical to plant operation and necessary for turnover to county operation.
The board also approved standard contractor signatures and documentation for the change orders (signed by contractor representative Colby Sinclair and by Commissioner Tony Anderson on the recorded forms).
