Fayette County approves major transfers and appropriations, moves $705,689 to jail operations

Commissioner Donald L. Fleak moved the transfers and Commissioner James D. Garland seconded; Commissioner Tony Anderson voted aye. The action consolidated funding for jail operations and was recorded as part of routine fiscal business at the session.
The board also approved an appropriation of $387.19 for American Rescue Plan Act equipment, additional appropriations that included $51,000 in contract services for jail operations and a $374,062 advance out for the County Airport Corporate Hangar. A previously announced appropriation modification moved $30,100 within the HUD Grant Bluegrass budget from contract services to other expense, and the board approved an advance of $33,840 from the General Fund into that HUD grant.
Other routine motions adopted by the board included an appropriation reduction to Morgan Ditch debt service (principal reduced by $11,592.73 and interest by $2.37) and multiple targeted transfers into Dog & Kennel, Senior Nutrition and the Commission on Aging.
The meeting record shows the motions were made and seconded from the dais and carried on unanimous roll call votes. No public comment on these items is recorded in the minutes.
The board also acknowledged a previously negotiated agreement with the Montgomery County Coroner's Office to supply autopsy services to Fayette County at $1,850 per case, including toxicology and court testimony; the agreement notes additional charges would be communicated in advance.
