County officials report March 13 wind damage; insurance claims filed and roof review ordered

County Administrator Erica L. Preston reported to the Auglaize County Board of Commissioners on March 17 that wind on March 13 caused damage to the courthouse roof, vehicles in the courthouse parking lot and the dog warden building and vehicle. Preston said insurance claims have been filed for the damage and the commissioners asked the maintenance department to review the existing courthouse roof area for any additional damage or claims.
In the same administrative report, Preston noted related operational items: the Engineer’s office is obtaining agreements for mowing of county sewer plants in 2026 and the county will consider increases to credit-card limits requested by the Sheriff’s office. The Board asked Preston to schedule an in-person meeting with the Federal Aviation Administration to discuss an airport masterplan extension request.
