County Administrator Erica L. Preston provided a broad operational briefing to the Board at the March 24 meeting, covering grant activity, property matters and maintenance needs.
Preston said recent requests to increase county credit card limits are on hold while the bank completes its processing. She advised the Board that she will submit a CDS grant application by the March 30, 2026 deadline and that the Board approved a requested letter of support for that application.
On property and infrastructure, Preston provided updates on a current Brownfield project and reviewed a recent land survey for the Acres site. She reported receipt of notice from the State that the City of Wapakoneta has no active revolving loan fund (RLF) activity since 2014 and that any new RLF requests within the city would be processed through Auglaize County.
Preston said the Village of Waynesfield has approved removal of bat‑nesting trees and that the county Engineer's office will complete removal this week. She also reported storm damage to bleachers at the fairgrounds; the county will obtain a repair estimate and determine whether insurance will cover the damage. The Board later reviewed masonry repair work at the courthouse at about 12:30 p.m.
Preston said an interview will be scheduled for the county's open IT position. The Board took no additional formal action beyond authorizing the Administrator to submit the CDS application and approving the letter of support.
Items discussed will be tracked through county administrative channels and recorded in the Board journal as appropriate.
