Boyle County Board approves DJJ grant, contracts, consultant hire and donor gifts

The board also approved an agreement with Jefferson Tours and Charters for two charter buses for the KHSAA State Football event in Lexington on Dec. 5, 2025 for $3,326. In the meeting packet, Boyle County High School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Travis Leffew justified the charter bus use for comfort (onboard bathroom), reliable scheduling and to avoid conflicts with regular school‑bus transportation.
The board approved hiring a grant‑writing consultant, Frieda Gebert, at $35 per hour for work on the Boyle County Performing Arts Center through June 30, 2026. The district accepted monetary donations to the Family Resource/Youth Service Center and school centers: $1,250 from First Christian Church, $1,000 from Jody and Kelley Lassiter, $1,000 from Moreland Christian Church, and accepted donated student Christmas gifts valued at $3,200 from Powel Power and Panel Concepts, Inc. The packet also listed planned fundraisers (Perryville Elementary PTO dine‑to‑donate events).
